Thank you so much for your feedback. Our Curl Defining Gel is formulated with a very strong hold, so a little goes a long way. It performs best when paired with water based products, such as our Mold & Hold Foaming Mousse, because the gel is designed to stretch and hold the curl pattern in place while minimizing frizz and providing long lasting definition.

If you prefer a softer, more touchable finish, our Curl Defining Custard may be a better option for your hair. The custard has a lightweight, pudding like consistency and is ideal for those who enjoy defined curls without the crunch that can come with stronger hold styling products.

I also wanted to mention that while shrinkage can be frustrating when you're trying to showcase length, it's actually a sign of healthy, elastic curls. Shrinkage occurs when your hair naturally contracts back into its curl pattern, which is often an indication that your curls are retaining moisture and maintaining their natural bounce.
